The summer can be busy with all the BBQs and potlucks! This recipe allows you to have the yummiest baked beans with low very little effort to bring to all your fun summer parties!
Ingredients
- 2 cups dried beans, (a mix of any type)
- 1⁄2 pound bacon, cooked and diced
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1⁄2 cup tomato puree
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄3 cup dark molasses
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1⁄4 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon chipotle powder or smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons salt , I use this salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 4 cups water
Directions
- Soak dried beans overnight
- Placed soaked beans in the slow cooker along with all other ingredients
- Turn slow cooker on high and cook for 6-8 hours or until tender
Note: If beans are drying out add water during the cooking.
