Ingredients
- 1 pound italian sausages, links
- 2 red or green bell peppers, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 jar marinara sauce (15.5 oz jar)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1⁄2 cup grated parmesan
- 1 pound dried pasta
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Directions:
- Place the Italian sausage links on the bottom of your slow cooker. Layer the sliced onions and bell peppers over the sausages.
- Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the top. Sprinkle with garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 5-6 hours, until the sausages are cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
- Use kitchen shears to cut the sausage links into bite-sized pieces directly in the slow cooker.
- Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese until well combined and creamy.
- While the slow cooker finishes up, cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and toss with a drizzle of olive oil to keep it from sticking.
- Serve the creamy sausage and pepper mixture over the cooked pasta, and garnish with extra Parmesan if desired.
Notes
Becky's Tip: This dish is pure comfort food! If you have a little extra time, caramelize the onions before adding them to the slow cooker for even more flavor. And don't forget a side of crusty bread to soak up that dreamy sauce!
All slow cookers operate at different temperatures, cooking times may vary.
