It is so easy to make the best homemade chocolate sauce! Most people already have on hand what is needed to make it. It is smoother, creamer, and richer than any store-bought chocolate sauce you can buy!
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions
- In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter
- Add in sugar, salt, and milk to the saucepan, stirring constantly. Once the sugar is melted, whisk in cocoa powder.
- Once the sauce is smooth, remove from heat and add vanilla.
- Pour into a heat-proof jar, let cool, and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week
Notes
- I try to only buy fair trade chocolate products whenever possible (this is what I buy)
- This recipe is very adaptable, you can make it dairy-free by substituting dairy milk for alternative milk produce.
- If you want a dark chocolate sauce reduce the sugar half.
