DIY Weed Killer
This homemade weed killer works great without needing a ton of toxic chemicals. For best results, avoid applying the weed killer when you see rain on the forecast 1-2 days after the application.
Here's a 3 Gallon Sprayer that I recommend using for the application: 3 Gallon Contractor Sprayer
Before you proceed: This solution is intended for use only on gravel walkways, driveways, and areas where vegetation is unwanted. Do not use in garden beds, raised beds, or any area where you want plants to grow, as the salt and vinegar can affect the pH and salinity of the soil.
DIY Weed Killer
Ingredients
- 2 gallons white vinegar
- 2 cups salt
- 1⁄2 cup dish soap
Directions
- In a three-gallon weed killer sprayer, combine the salt and vinegar. Mix the salt thoroughly with the vinegar until it dissolves completely (I use the spraying wand to do this).
- Add the dish soap and mix until well combined.
- Proceed to spray the solution onto the weeds.
Notes
For optimal results, apply the solution on a sunny day when there is no rain forecasted for at least two days.
